OOTD \\ From the Catwalk to the Street...

31. Januar 2017

The couture shows in Paris are just getting in full swing, and some of these avantgarde designs, it is quite hard to imagine to wear these in everyday life. How and where can one wear such looks? For many, it still just does not seem clear that the designers on the catwalk will not present what Mrs. Smith is wearing next season. On show, new interpretations, new combinations and messages are presented to get attention and shows what fashion can do. It presented the maximum, on the plain boundary between "tasteless", "intolerable" and "dull". Nobody expected us to wear the looks one-by-one, except for Anna Dello Russo, the editor of the Japanese Vogue, known for wearing exactly the look from the catwalks.

Fashion shows are no longer only presentations of the next trend looks, but more and more events where buyers, bloggers and end-users get inspiration. Inspiration - not rule. In our day and age, where bloggers and streetstyles are moe influencing the fashion world than fashion magazines and buyers of boutiques, it is nevertheless at each individual to find his style and to combine clothes individual.

A good example of this is the last design cooperation between H&M and Kenzo. I am a big fan of the French brand with Japanese roots and love the eccentric mix of colorful colors, patterns and shapes. Accordingly, I was looking forward to the cooperation. Even the first collection pictures were quite exciting and promised a firework of colors and patterns, just like KENZO. I know that many of my blogger colleagues and friends could never really make friends with this cooperation, the response to the collection was not as good as on the previous co-operation of H&M. Many said "You can not wear that!". Of course, one can not wear the pink zebra stripe look on the street. In addition, advertising pictures as well as a fashion show are always an inspiration, an artistic space of creativity and individuality. There were (my personal opinion) so many beautiful items, which can be worn, with the right combination, with almost every occasion. I was also positively surprised by the quality of the products (exception, however, was the leather goods, the jewelery and the T-shirt, but this was always the case with the past co-operation of H&M). My luck, that many buyers were frightened by the colorful patterns. So I could get all the pieces I absolutely wanted, and keept a lot of them. My highlights were the silk pajama top, the warm fluffy kimono socks as well as the Oversize wool pullover.

My favorite piece, I present to you today: the Oversize wool pullover with shortened flared sleeves and colorful patches and embroidery. Combines all á la Kenzo with an eccentric fringe skirt also from H&M. The flat boots from Paris bring the whole thing down again. The golden FURLA mini bag brings the glam factor into the look.

Style is not exactly to wear the looks which fashion houses, friends or designers wanted us to wear, but rather the feeling to combine each piece into a great look, which supports our personality.
