Shopping Run \\ Japan Candy Box – Test & CONTEST

Wie nun schon des Öfteren in meinen Posts erwähnt fühle ich mich mit Japan sehr verbunden, insbesondere nach meinem sechsmonatigen Auslandssemester in Hiroshima. Das ist jedoch schon 4 Jahre her und es gibt so Einiges, was ich immer noch back in Germany vermisse. Besonders kleine Dinge sind es die den Alltag in Japan so aufregend, neu und anders machen. Angefangen von den witzigen Pieps-tönen welche die Ampel in der Grünphase von sich geben bis zu den unglaublichen Leckereien, welche jeden Supermarkt-Besuch zum Abenteuer werden lassen.

Japanische Süßigkeiten sind nicht nur unglaublich niedlich, bunt und süß, sonder vor allem auch ungewöhnlich und wirklich hübsch. In Japan isst das Auge definitiv mit. Für alle die Pocky & Co. auch so vermissen oder einfach nur ein Stückchen Japan zu Hause haben wollen, gibt es die JAPAN CANDY BOX.

Like I mentioned in some posts before, inside I am Japanese, especially after my six-month semester abroad in Hiroshima. However, the's been 4 years and I still miss so many thinks in Japan back here in Germany. There are so many things in Japan which make everyday life so exciting, new and different. From the funny beeping tones from the traffic lights up to the incredible goodies, which make a visit of the supermarket to an adventure.

Japanese sweets are not only incredibly cute, colorful and sweet, but also unusual and really pretty. In Japan you eat with your eyes. For all who also miss Pocky & Co. or just wanna have a piece of Japan at home, there is the JAPAN CANDY BOX.

Ich durfte die Box testen und habe diese perfekt zu meinem Geburtstag per Post erhalten. Die Lieferzeit dauert etwas lang, ist jedoch verständlich, da sie ja auch einen langen Weg hinter sich hat.

Man weiß nie genau was die Box enthält, daher war die Spannung bei mir natürlich groß. Zehn quitschig verpackte Leckereien purzelten heraus und ich musste erstmals jedes genau inspizieren um heraus zu finden was sich den genau darin versteckt.

I was able to test the box and got the box perfectly to my birthday by mail. The delivery time takes a little long, but is understandable, since the box traveld so far.
You never know exactly what's inside box, therefore I was sooo excited. Ten quitschig packaged treats tumbled out and I had to find out what is hiding the fact exactly the first time each accurately inspect.

Da ich dank meiner großen Affinität zu Japan nicht unbedingt der objektivste Tester bin, habe ich meinen Freund als zweiten Tester bestimmt.

Since I'm not necessarily the most objective testers thanks to my great affinity to Japan, I have appointed my friend as second tester.

FUJIYA CHOCOLATE UMBRELLA

Erdbeer-Schokolade in der Form eines kleinen Regenschirmchens. Schön ist der Schokoladeneffekt, dass die Erdbeerschokolade an der Spitze langsam in die Vollmilch-Schokolade übergeht.

Boyfriend: Lecker, ich find es gut, dass die Erdbeerschokolade nicht so süß und künstlich ist.

Eva: Schmeckt etwas wie Yogurette. Auch wenn ich normalerweise nicht der große Schokolade mit Fruchtgeschmack Fan bin, finde ich die ganz gut.

Boyfriend: Yummy, I like that the strawberry chocolate is not so sweet and synthetical.
Eva: It tasteslike Yogurette. Although I am not usually a big strawberry-flavored fan, It is good.

KOBAYA WATERMELON GUMS

Fruchtgummis in Form und Geschmack einer Wassermelone. Verpackung und Aussehen natürlich dementsprechend super süß.

Boyfriend: Die riechen komisch und der Geschmack ist nicht so meins...

Eva: Mir sind sie leider etwas zu süß und der Geschmack etwas künstlich. Für eine Sommerparty allerdings finde ich die wirklich witzig. Melon-Day Party!

Eva: To me they are a bit too sweet and tastes synthetically. But for a summer party it is really funny. Melon-Day Party!

MEIGUM SUPER SOUR LEMON GUMS

Kaugummi Kugeln mit sauren Zitronen Geschmack.

Boyfriend: Super-sauer ist etwas übertrieben, aber ganz lecker.

Eva: Echt lecker. Ich mag es, dass der Kaugummi weich ist und weich bleibt.

Eva: Real tasty. I like the fact that the gum is and remains really soft.

MORINAGA OTOTO CRACKERS

Boyfriend: Wieder was salziges super. Luftig und knackig, sehr lecker... könnten jedoch etwas würziger sein.

Eva: Awwww ich dreh durch ein Karotten-Chips. Der Geschmack find ich super, nicht so salzig und überwürzt wie die meisten Chips. Aber warum ist die Packung nur so klein?

Boyfriend: Great, again something salty. Airy and crispy, delicious ... but could be a bit spicier.
Eva: Awwww sooo cute, a carrot-chips. Really delicious, not so salty like most chips here in Germany. But why is the pack just as small?

YAOKIN CORN POTAGE STICK

Salziges Gebäck für Zwischendurch.

Boyfriend: Wie Chips to go. Endlich mal was nicht so Mädchenhaftes. Lecker! Könnte ruhig größer sein.

Eva: Ich erinnere mich noch genau daran, als ich zum ersten Mal so einen Stick probiert haben. Eine Gruppe Japaner hat mir einen zum Probieren gegeben auf der Überfahrt von Naoshima nach Takamatsu. Der Geschmack ist ein andere, aber immer noch so lecker wie damals. Für mich eine bessere alternative wie Chips.

Boyfriend: Like chips to go. Finally something not so girlish. Delicious! The package could be quiet larger.
Eva: I remember clearly when I tried such a stick for the first time. A group of Japanese has given me one to try on the boat from Naoshima to Takamatsu. The taste is a different, but still very delicious. For me, better than chips.

BOURBON KIDORIKKO COOKIES

Boyfriend: Was ist das? Ein Fisch. Wieder so mädchenhaft, können die nicht einfach normale Kekse machen.... jaahaa aber lecker sind sie, gibt’s noch mehr davon?

Eva: ich dreh durch! Diese Kekse sind definitiv die niedlichsten Kekse auf der Welt. Ich mag es dass sie so knackig sind aber dennoch nicht trocken. Find ich sogar besser als Butterkekse... mehr!

Boyfriend: What is it? A fish. Re so girlish, simply can not make normal biscuits .... jaahaa but tasty they are, there's more of them?
Eva: I turn through! These cookies are definitely the cutest cookies in the world. I like that but they still are not dry as crisp. I find even better than butter cookies ... more!

STRAWBERRY POCKY STICKS

Keks-Stäbchen in Herzform ummantelt mit Erdbeerschokolade.

Boyfriend: Die sind wirklich lecker, besser wie Yogurette und nicht so Erdbeer-süß, aber leider etwas mädchenhaft.

Eva: ich liebe Pockys! Wer schon mal in Japan war, weiß dass es Pocksy wirklich überall und in allen Geschmacksrichtungen gibt. Ich bin super glücklich, dass Pockys in der Box drin waren. Auch wenn ich nicht der größte Erdbeerschokoladen Fan bin, schmecken mit diese Pockys auch gut und ich liebe das Detail mit den Herz-Stäbchen.

Eva: I love Pockys! Anyone who has been in Japan know that you can find Pockys everywhere and in all flavors. I'm super happy that Pockys were in the box. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of Strawberry Chocolate, it tastes good. I love the detail with the heart shaped Biscuit sticks.

YAOKIN SOUR LEMON PAPER CANDY

Fruchtgummi mit sauren Zitronen Geschmack

Boyfriend: Find ich ja wieder nicht wirklich sauer, aber dafür auch nicht zu süß – lecker, so für zwischendurch..

Eva: Stimmt sauer ist es nicht, dafür ist der Geschmack auch nicht so künstlich sonder echt lecker. Ich mag es auch, dass das Fruchtgummi nicht zwischen den Zähnen kleben bleibt.

Boyfriend: Again not really sour, but also not too sweet – delicious.
Eva: Yes, not really sour, but the taste is good not so synthetically. I also like that the fruit gum does not stick between the teeth.

MARUKAWA DORAEMON CHEWING GUM

Kleine Box mit vier kleinen Kaugummis.

Boyfriend: Wieso sind die denn so klein. Schmecken wie die Cola-Fläschen von Haribo.

Eva: Super für unterwegs. Ich mag den, wenn auch etwas undefinierbaren Geschmack und die weiche Konsistenz.

Eva: Great for on the road. I like the nondescript flavor and soft texture.

MEIJI APOLLO CHOCOLATE DIY KIT

Eine Box mit verschiedener Schokoladensorten (Vanille, Schoko und Erdbeere) sowie bunte Deko-Perlen zum Schokoladenpralinen selber machen. Dabei muss man lediglich die drei enthaltenen Schokoladen-Pasten in ein heißes Wasserbad legen und schon kann man die enthaltenen Pralinen Schablonen füllen. Mit den außerdem enthaltenen bunten Streuseln können die Pralinen entweder gefüllt oder geschmückt werden

Boyfriend: Niedlich. Aber könnte auch wieder ruhig etwas größer sein.

Eva: Ich finde die Idee super, das selber zu machen. Die Schoki ist auch ganz lecker. Leider sind die Pralinen nicht ganz soooo hübsch geworden wie auf der Verpackung. :)

You just have to put the three contained chocolate pastes in a hot water bath. Than you can fill the contained chocolates templates. With the also contained colorful sprinkles the chocolates can be either filled or decorated.
Boyfriend: Cute. But could be much bigger...
Eva: I love this DIY idea. The chocolate is also quite tasty. Unfortunately, the chocolates are not sooo pretty as on the packaging. :)

FAZIT\\CONCLUSION

Die Japan Box ist definitiv nicht nur was für kleine Japan-Verrückte wie mich. Als lustiges Geschenk, Party Gadget oder einfach auch mal so, sich durch die Box zu probieren macht wirklich Spaß. Gerade für jemanden der die japanische Kultur noch nicht so erlebt hat, kann die Box ein kleines Abenteuer sein. Aus Erfahrung kann ich sagen, dass es diese Süßigkeiten auch so in japanischen Supermärkten zu kaufen gibt.

Ich mag die Vielfalt zwischen süß und salzig, so ist wirklich für jeden was dabei. Mein Freund und ich sind uns einig, unsere Highlights sind die DIY Chocolate Box, die Kidoriko Cookies, die Ototo Crackers und die Pocky Sticks. Probiert es doch auch mal, welche japanischen Süßigkeiten sollten nach eurer Meinung am besten auch bei euch im Supermark stehen?

The Japan Box is definitely not just for Japan-crazy like me. As funny present, Party Gadget or simply for everytime, the box is really fun. Especially for someone who has never experienced the Japanese culture, the box can be an adventure. From my experience I can say that the goodies in the boy are exactly like the one you also can find in very Japanese supermarkets.
I like the diversity between sweet and salty, so there is something for everyone. Zhe highlights for my boyfriend and I were the DIY Chocolate Box, the Kidoriko cookies, the Ototo Crackers and the Pocky Sticks. Try it and tell me which Japanese sweets should be sold also in your supermarket?
