Osaka ist mit über 2,7 Mio. Einwohner und 17,5 Mio. Einwohner im Ballungsgebiet ist es die die zweitgrößte Stadt Japans und Mittelpunkt der Kansai Region. Meine Japan Reisen brachten mich nun schon drei Mal nach Osaka. Die Stadt lebt durch seine multikulturellen Einflüsse dank des Hafens sowie internationalen Großflughafens, seine lauten Vergnügungsviertel und bunten Shoppingmalls. Für viele ist die Stadt jedoch nur ein toller Ausgangpunkt zu vielen in der Nähe liegenden Sehenswürdigkeiten.
Dabei lohnt es sich auch die Stadt Osaka zu erkunden. Hier meine „ 10 Dinge die du in Osaka getan haben solltest“:

Nightlife in Dotonbori
Die Straßen um die Ebusu-bashi Brücke erwachen erst mit der Dämmerung zum Leben: Laute Musik, bunte grelle Lichter und Riesen Video-Reklamen. Ein Wirrwarr aus Menschen, Lauten und verschiedenster Essen-Gerüche überfordert alle Sinne – Willkommen in Osakas Nightlife! Über all das wacht der sportliche Glica-Man. Auf den Straßen und Nebengassen wimmelt es von leckeren Restaurants und kleinen Lokalen, dazwischen mischen sich Bars und Spielhallen. Ein Abend allein reicht gar nicht um Dotonbori in seiner ganzen Fülle zu erleben.
When it is dark the streets around the Ebusu-bashi Bridge come to: music, colorful bright lights and giant video advertisements. A mix of people, sounds and various food smells overwhelms all the senses - Welcome to Osaka's nightlife! The sporty Glica-Man watches over all this. On the streets and side streets, there are a lot of delicious restaurants and small pubs. One evening is not enough to experience Dotonbori in its full abundance

DIE Spezialität aus Osaka! Die kleinen Teigbällchen werden mit kleinen Oktopusärmchen gefüllt und mit verschiedenen Toppings serviert. Interessant ist es vor allem den Straßenköchen beim Machen der kleinen Bällchen zuzuschauen. Die besten Lokale gibt es bei der Ebusu-bashi Brücke in Namba.

Visit the Osaka Castle
Die Burg von Osaka ist wohl einer der bekanntesten Burgen von Japan sowie Wahrzeichen der Stadt Osaka und daher auch Teil meiner Liste. Die acht Etagen hohe Burg gehört zu den größten Burgen des Landes. Nach vielen Zerstörungen, die letzte durch amerikanische Bomber im Zweiten Weltkrieg, wurde die Burg erst 1997 wieder aufgebaut. Dadurch ist die Burg kein wirklich „historische Gebäude“ mehr. Im Inneren fehlt mir persönlich dann doch der Charme der alten Holzgerüste und Bauweisen, dafür gibt es einen Aufzug … von außen ist die Burg jedoch wirklich schön anzuschauen, außerdem lohnt sich auch ein Spaziergang durch die umliegende Gartenanlagen.
The Osaka Castle is probably one of the most famous castles in Japan, as well as Osaka's landmark and therefore part of my list. The eight-storey high castle is one of the largest castles in the country. After many destruction, the last by American bomber in the Second World War, the castle was rebuilt in 1997. This makes the castle no longer a "historic building". In the interior, I personally lack the charm of the old wooden frames and constructions, but there is an elevator ... from the outside, the castle is really nice to look at, but also worth a walk through the surrounding gardens.
Get new Friends at the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan
Kaiyukan - Eines der größten Aquarien der Welt. In 16 Aquarien wird den Besuchern der Pazifische Ozean als Lebensraum näher gebracht. Besonders imposant das größte Becken mit einer 5.400 Kubikmeter Wasser in der Mitte des Aquariums. Darin wimmeln sich Mantarochen, Haie und sogar Walhaie. Ein unglaubliches Erlebnis.
Kaiyukan - One of the largest aquariums in the world. In 16 aquariums the visitors are introduced to the Pacific Oceanand its inhabitans. Really imposing is the largest basin with a 5,400 cubic meters of water in the middle of the aquarium. There are mantras, sharks and even whale sharks. An incredible experience.
Take a breathtaking view from the Umeda Sky Buling
Mein persönliches Highlight! Im Gegensatz zu alle den anderen Towern, Gebäuden und Aussichtstürmen welche man in Großstädten besteigen kann gibt es auf dem Umeda Sky Building eine Aussichtsplattform ganz OHNE FENSTER. Nachtfotos ganz ohne Spiegelungen sind hier ohne großen Fotozubehör möglich. Ein echtes Erlebnis ist auch der Weg auf die Aussichtplattform, zuerst rast man die über 50 Stockwerke mit einem Glasaufzug hoch, dann geht’s spektakulär mit einer Rolltreppe, welche zwischen den beiden Tower „hängt“ nach ganz oben. Besonders schön: ein Besuch zum Sonnenuntergang.
My personal highlight! In contrast to all the other towers, buildings and observation towers that you can climb in big cities, there is a viewing platform entirely WITHOUT GLAS. Night photos without any reflections are possible here without large photo accessories. A real experience is also the way to the viewing platform, first one races the over 50 floors with a glass elevator up, then it's spectacular with a escalator, which "hangs" between the two tower to the top. Especially nice: a visit to the sunset.
